Day 1, September 2 We will depart New York, JFK. Dinner, breakfast and movies during our flight.

Day 2, September 3: Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3, September 4: Boat ride - Magdala - Jesus Boat - Mt. Beatitudes - Tabgha - Capernaum - Yardenit, Baptismal site Today begins with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Once we're out on the lake, we’ll turn off the engines for a time of fellowship, remembering the many miracles that Jesus performed on these same waters. Our boat docks at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar where we'll see the remains of an ancient fishing boat dating from the time of Christ – 1st century. Nearby, we’ll visit the newly opened site of Magdala – known today as Migdal. This small prosperous fishing village was the birthplace of Mary Magdalene. We’ll see a synagogue from the time of Jesus with a newly discovered mosaic floor featuring a fisherman’s boat. From here, we’ll ascend to the Mount of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5), where the Sermon on the Mount took place. Next, we make a brief visit to Tabgha (John 6:1), the traditional site which commemorates the multiplication of the loaves and fish, Feeding the 5000. We continue to Capernaum, known as the Town of Jesus, where He carried out the major part of His ministry and home to Peter. We conclude our day at Yardenit, a baptismal site built where the Sea of Galilee flows into the Jordan River. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Tiberias.

Day 4, September 5: After our early breakfast we will visit Tel Megiddo (I Kings 9:15), King Solomon’s ancient chariot city where you will view Ahab’s water tunnels, the hidden water source of the Israelis during the days of the divided kingdom. we will cross the Sheik Hussein bridge towards Jordan. Arrival to Petra, where we will have dinner and overnight.

Day 5, September 6: After breakfast we visit explore the Nabatean city of Petra. This is one of the most striking sites upon earth. After a short horse ride in a beautiful canyon we come upon an old temple carved into the sand stone of the canyon, beyond which lies the city. It was built in the 4th century as a shelter city for caravans that crossed the desert between Egypt and Syria. We continue to Mt. Nebo where Moses saw the promised land and could not enter. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Day 6, September 7: Jordan - Dead Sea Swim – Mt. Olives – Gethsemane – House of Caiphas – Jerusalem Early this morning, we depart towards the Allenby to make our first stop. We drive toward the Judean Desert toward the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth - we’ll have short period time to personally sample the unique buoyancy of the highly therapeutic Dead Sea waters. Mt. of Olives. We will first visit the Chapel of Ascension, the place where Jesus ascended to Heaven forty days after His resurrection. Here we will enjoy the spectacular view of Jerusalem and Mt. Moriah before descending Palm Sunday Road, to the tear-shaped church of Dominus Flevit (Luke 19:41-44.) Tradition holds that Jesus wept over His beloved Jerusalem here. We continue our descent to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36) with its ancient olive trees. Before leaving, based on availability, we’ll enter a private garden where we can take time to worship and pr ay. We will then have a visit of the House of Caiaphas (John 18:12). We’ll descend deep into the pit where Christ was kept until morning when He was led away to Pilate. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7, September 8: Via Dolorosa – Dome of the Rock - Garden Tomb. We continue walking some stations of the Via Dolorosa. If it’s permitted, we will continue to visit the Dome of the Rock. Our sightseeing day will conclude at the Garden Tomb (John 19:38) where we will try to gain a sense of Christ’s crucifixion at Calvary (Luke 23) and celebrate the reality of His resurrection with communion.
